Caute and MemoryPlugin.

MemoryPlugin and Caute both give every assistant you use one memory. MemoryPlugin gathers it as you chat. In Caute, an assistant writes a memory when it remembers something, beside the page it learned it from.

In their words

“Never start from scratch with your AI again.”

What is the same

  • Both give one memory to every assistant you connect, Claude and ChatGPT among them.
  • Both let you read, edit and delete what was remembered, and export it.

Stay with MemoryPlugin if

  • You want memory gathered for you as you chat, without an assistant choosing to remember.
  • You want your past chat history brought in and kept in sync.

Move to Caute if

  • You want each memory beside the page or passage it was learned from, with the page kept as it was caught.
  • You want to see which assistant read which card, and when.
  • You want a correction made once to reach every assistant, with the old memory kept and one tap to put it back.
  • You keep your sources too: pages, files, email and your own notes, found by what they mean.

Moving from MemoryPlugin

Caute has no importer for MemoryPlugin.

To bring memories across, ask for them one a line and paste them under Bring what your assistant remembers, in Settings, Connect an assistant. Each line becomes a memory you can keep, edit or forget.

Questions

Does Caute remember things on its own?

No. An assistant writes a memory when it chooses to, and you see it on the Memory page under that assistant's name. A fact it proposes about a card waits for you to keep or dismiss.

Who can see what I bring across?

Only you. It lands in your private inbox, and nothing is shared until you move it into a shared space.
